Speaking on how necessary it is to preach the Law in order to excite interest in the gospel Dr. Sproul says,
People [today] are not excited about the gospel because they tacitly assume that there is no great need for it. We are told that God loves everybody, and He loves them unconditionally; that He accepts us just as we are. If that were true, we would have no need to flee from our guilt and sin to embrace the gospel.
