Creating God in the Likeness of Man

Speaking of Greek classical art Michael Wood says in his textbook Art of the Western World, "Man and god have become so alike that one is indistinguishable from the other."

The Greeks emphasized the ideal. They wanted to pinpoint the highest and best of everything, especially man. They thought that man was the measure of all things, & the greatest of creatures. Therefore it is not hard to understand why god and man come to be so similar in their art.
Yet, this is the epitome of sin. It is the essence of Satan's first fiery dart, which stung the heart of Adam & Eve, "You will be like God..."
