Is What is True for Me True for You?

A recent poll also asked young people (between the ages of 13-24) to choose between two statements about their views of other faiths. The results?
Sixty-eight percent agree with the statement, "I follow my own religious and spiritual beliefs, but I think that other religious beliefs could be true as well." Thirty-one percent choose, "I strongly believe that my religious beliefs are true and universal, and that other religious beliefs are not right."
It seems that he tide of relativism is rolling in quite strongly among our young people. As we raise our youth we need ever more to be instilling in them the universal fact of "Thus says the Lord."

The poll revealed that the latter statement was most likely to be checked by the younger of those polled (ages 13-17). I would assume that the heavy influence of public education and college professors have something to do with that. All the more reason to concentrate our efforts to "raise up a child in the way they should go." As Christians we need to build a strong foundation early on and continue to reinforce it through their adolescent years so that when they are old they might not turn away.
