How Will Ashland Change?

Quite an interesting discussion going on over at ashlandischanging.com regarding the nature, function, and importance of the word of God and the primacy of preaching. I was even accused of making the Bible an idol.

It seems that those of us that hold to the inerrancy and sufficiency of the Scriptures are rare in the church today. Interspirituality, along with the spirit of ecumenicism, pluralism and unity are all eroding at the very foundations of our faith. Hence the "liberalism" both in the church and in the culture. We are witnessing a spirit of Antichrist in our land. Arguably I see this happening ever since Calvinism was replaced by the semi-pelagianists of the 1800's. Since then we have lost our bearings , both in the church and in the public realm, both in morals and politics and freedom.
