National Day of Prayer to the Respected Diety of Your Choice

I attended the National Day of Prayer breakfast here in Ashland this morning.  Pastor John Bouquet deserves much praise for his work to get it together.  It was a great joy to participate.

The speaker for the event, Kamal Saleem did an excellent job of giving his testimony and presenting how the faith of Islam is a threat to America.  He pointed out how the jihadists are recruited and trained from very young ages.  Also, he wished to make clear that the Muslims are not just attacking with bombs and high jack planes.  They are infiltrating prisons andcolleges (by way of professors and campus ministries) to recruit and confuse.  Saleem's knowledge was first hand too, as he was personally involved in some of these radical Muslim groups before he was converted to Christ.

The down side of the breakfast was the Mayor's annual NDP proclamation.  Last year I noticed that it was incredibly vague when it came to mentioning the g-word.  This year I noticed that the mayor's proclamation was that all call on the god that they choose, whichever one that may be.  He emphasized the fact that the Constitution guarantees the freedom of religion and that whatever religion you choose is good for families and the broader society.  Too bad he didn't listen to Mr. Saleem's speech before writing the proclamation.  Then he would have known that any old religion does not promote a stable family and community.

On this day for prayer I call out to the only true and living God, the Triune God of the Bible, and ask that He would hear the prayers that were offered aright at this gathering and, most of all, forgive our mayor for his blindness and careless promotion of false deities.

We are in a battle for the soul of America and politicians with their political correctness are on the front lines of the enemy camp I'm afraid . It they had a shred of faith they would know better . Mr. Mayor needs our prayer if he thinks Islam is good for families and America !
