The Christian Duty to Overthrow Tyranny

I was watching some of the bonus features of our last video series.  One of the most interesting parts was a discussion of John Knox and his belief that it is not only the right of individuals to overthrow a government when it becomes oppressive, but it is their duty.  This was even encapsulated in The Scots Confession of 1560, which he helped to write.  It says that one of the works that God commands is that his people "repress tyranny."

I believe that this is important for all Christians to take heed to given the direction of our country and the increasing tyranny we are experiencing.  I would especially like to encourage all of my ministerial friends to take heed to this divine precept and be willing not only to preach it, but stand valiantly when called upon to do so.
