Its Not of Works, or of Workouts!

How far can it go?

Evangelicalism is in a tailspin.

It will soon die.

Ecclesiastical silliness has reached a new low.  We have so despised the power of preaching the gospel and the explosive nature of sound doctrine that we have jettisoned the pulpit altogether.  Our churches were once places of spiritual exercise as souls gathered for worship.  Now it is just a place of exercise.

From Caller.com (click here to see the video):
CORPUS CHRISTI — Pastor Bil Cornelius of Bay Area Fellowship isn’t just preaching the word. He’s preaching it while working out.
He is issuing a challenge to his congregation and the entire city: If you’re not happy with your health, do something about it.
The pastor gave six sermons Saturday and Sunday while sweating and huffing on an elliptical machine.
Of course, the only thing to do next is to replace the pews with stair climbers or rowing machines.  Hey, then we could charge a good amount of money for the service like Bally's or Gold's Gym.  We could give it a kooky name too: God's Gym!  That would really be good!
The devil must be so excited.  He has disarmed the one weapon that is most destructive to him and his kingdom.

The only way to stay off this apostasy is to remember that salvation is not of works, or of workouts.  It is by grace alone.  And that grace must be preached with all due reverence and in all its glory.  And the ordinances of God must not be profaned in such a atrocious manner.
