"As a dog returns to its vomit, so a fool repeats his folly." Proverbs 26:11.
When Ashland Seminary brought the heretic Paul Young, author of The Shack, to town to spread his lies I spoke out against them. I said that they were helping to ravage the flock of God. And ravage he did! People came out by the hundreds to hear Young speak. No doubt the seminary made a killing on the episode with $20 per ticket. You could say that the wages of sin are pretty nice.
Well, they are doing it again. The seminary is intent on displaying their disgust of good theology and disregard for the pure Word of God by bringing Young back to speak at their Columbus and Detroit campus. So no, it wasn't that they were just checking it out and "having an open mind to all things new." They love it, want to propagate it, and desire to gain worldly profit from it.
So once again I call you to take heed to the seminary's wayward spirit and distance yourself from them. They do not have the things of Christ in mind. They are enchanted with men who use smooth speech and flattery to deceive the hearts of the naïve (Rom. 16:18).
And once again I call the seminary to repent of their embrace of Young and his errors. As an institution that prides itself in Biblical and theological acumen they ought to recognize the doctrines that are contrary to the Bible's teachings and be the first to decry them. Instead they have done everything in their power to promote them, and so they lead all those under their influence astray. They have returned to their vomit and found it glorious.
Should they not heed these calls, do recognize that the Scripture will be fulfilled: It will be better for them to have a millstone tied around their necks and be tossed into the sea.
