Shots Fired at Local School: Why You Should Consider Home Education Now!

The chilling news of gunfire in the parking lot of Mansfield Senior High School yesterday reminds us of the serious safety issues existing in our current educational system.  The Mansfield News Journal reported that a 16 year old boy pointed a gun at a group of three and fired one shot.  Then, after walking away, he fired another shot into the air.

By God's grace, no one was injured.  Yet the incident awakens us to the fact that each day that fathers send their children out among dangerous hoodlums, and mothers drop their kids off at institutions where ruffians who possess lethal weapons gather on a daily basis.

In the aftermath of this event we must take care to remember the words of Psalm 1.  It is incumbent upon us to take every precaution to ensure that our children "stand not in the way of sinners nor sit in the seat of mockers."  When we put our children in such environments, it is dangerous.

This is why home education is a growing and viable option for parents in our area today.  Not only do children have the opportunity to receive the best possible education, but they may do so in the safety of their own home.

Thousands of wonderful curricula are available to parents, which makes teaching children at home is easier than ever.  As well, both Mansfield and Ashland have active home school communities, where parents can find help with their questions and let their children interact with kids who are not to be feared.
