Divine Guiding & the Unbound Word

Jeram Barrs from Covenant Theological Seminary relates the following story...

A few older ladies of a church bible society began to pray earnestly for a ministry. They asked God to send them someone they could mentor. They got their answer when a certain married couple, newly converted, came to them.

It happened that this couple had been strung out on drugs. They were junkies. But somehow they had gotten a copy of a daily devotional. They began to read it, not because they were religious, but...well, just because. They didn't know why. Each day they would read their entry. As these two went about their ritual of drugs and discipleship, the Word of God was being unleashed upon them.

Somewhere along the line they were converted and, having a new desire to grow, sought out assistance. God, like a stork, dropped these babes in the laps of these faithful ladies who prayed to be used by him to promote his kingdom.
