I'd like to introduce you to CRF's newest member, and member of my family, Paige Marie Timmons.
Perhaps you have wondered why the blog posts had come to a screeching halt. Well, I was happy to step away from my nest here in front of the computer for a few days in order to concentrate fully on her.
My wife and I had started the adoption process in October of last year. We had always wanted to adopt and we thought we had finally come to the point in our lives where we could pursue it.
What surprised us is that it happened so quickly! We thought we would have to wait at least until the summer to welcome a new one. I was actually thinking we wouldn't have a baby until December. But at our last home study our social worker told us that there was a baby to be born in the next week or two. If we wanted her, we could have her.
We jumped at the opportunity.
Paige was born in the wee hours of Tuesday morning, May 1st. She was 7lbs 11 oz and 20 1/2 inches. Elizabeth and I signed the official papers on the following Friday, before bringing her home. During our time at the hospital we were also blessed to be able to spend a good deal of time with the birth mother. It was a pleasure to befriend her and minister to her in various ways. We will have many good things to pass on to Paige about her throughout her life.
Most certainly the Lord has been good to us. He has adopted us into His family, and we have the pleasure of adopting one into our covenant household. We look forward to Paige's baptism in a few weeks, where the Lord's pledge to "never leave her or forsake her" will be affirmed. And we look forward to showering her with all the privileges of being a covenant child.
"He has done great things for us, and we are filled with joy."
Psalm 126:3
