A Healthy Revival

In his Faithful Narrative of a Surprising Work of God Jonathan Edwards reported that the many physical as well as spiritual benefits accompanied the revival that occurred during his ministry. He said that the number of illnesses dropped significantly during that time. The cases of melancholy (we would call it depression) also waned in noticeable proportions. Even the number of deaths decreased.

In reading George Mueller's biography I found the same sort of phenomena. The author recounted the fact that there was relatively little sickness that broke out within Mueller's orphanages.

Yes, that's right. When the Lord arises there is healing in his wings.

"Fear the Lord, and turn away from evil.

It will be healing to your flesh and refreshment to your bones."
