Adolescence: How the Church Has Caved to the World

Something random I came across on Facebook and thought it deserved to be posted:
One of the most destructive things we have done in the church is adopt the humanistic, worldly idea of the "adolescent" which finds its roots in evolutionary psychology and teaches us to expect our "teenagers" to be rebellious, self-willed, independent-minded egoists.  The world, as would be expected, has accommodated this unbiblical demographic in the "youth subculture" that has its own dress, style, music, language, etc.

But strikingly, the modern evangelical church has blindly followed suit in many circles, destroying the practical oneness of the body, so that in many churches the "youth" (an unbiblical demographic) have their own music, style, language, Bible, dress, church service, and "pastor."

This is hardly a reflection of the unity in diversity presented both in Ephesians and 1 Corinthians. ~ Brian

…as opposed to remaining in a state of parental-dependence throughout their lives????

Come on, seriously!!!

The perceived radical behavior of each new, emerging generation FAR pre-dates any “modern evolutionary psychology” or humanism and only serves to demonstrate how idealistic and non-functional pipe dreams like the “practical oneness of the body” really are!

Oh btw - how could they be “unbiblical”, yet have their own “Bible” as claimed…?? (assuming the proper-noun capitalized version implies the usual KJV-related scripture).

The "practical oneness of the body" is also ruined by having the "body" broken up into 300 different parts in a locality--arms, eyes, legs, ears, etc. all meeting in different "local churches."
