First Presbyterian of Mansfield Parts Ways with PCUSA
I often lament the things that are happening in the PCUSA. One reason is because it makes me, a Presbyterian in a more conservative denomination, look bad—not to mention the ill it brings upon the Name of Christ. One of the latest woes is the decision by the denomination to toss out its fidelity and chastity clause, which affirmed marriage as being between one man and one woman.
A brighter note is that this move has been the final straw among many of the conservative congregations within the PCUSA. One of the faithful congregations that has decided to leave the PCUSA is First Presbyterian Church in Mansfield. In an article in the Mansfield News Journal they admit that the theology of the PCUSA has been changed and that Christ is no longer regarded as the only way of salvation. You may read the article recounting their move here.
These saints are to be praised for their faithfulness to Christ.
