You are our shield and defender. You have preserved us and kept us safe. Though legions have sought our destruction and doom is all about us, we have dwelt secure. The teeth of the evil one may be ferocious and his ministers may infiltrate our ranks, yet you are strong to save and unrelenting in your favor.
We thank you that your tender eye never leaves us and that your mighty hand is outstretched to deliver us. We thank you for abiding with us and protecting us from all our enemies.
And we pray that even now you might be working in us and about us. The forces of evil would love to deter us from our worship of you. This is perhaps their most active hour of the week. But we pray that you might descend upon us and still their evil workings. Cast them out from our ranks and lift us high into your presence where no evil ones dare to trod.
God, let your name be praised and let our hearts not be hindered from offering those honors. For this we ask in Jesus’ Name.
