TG Fails to Post Care Center Article

Interestingly, the Ashland Times-Gazette has not posted my article on the medical upgrade of the Ashland Care Center in its "Citizen News" section of its web page. This section of the web page is supposed to be news "by the people and for the people." But evidently the saving of innocent lives is not news to them.

I first submitted the article through the TG web page on Monday August 11th. When, after a week's wait, it had not been posted I emailed the newsroom to find out whether or not it was received. The prompt reply stated that nobody had seen it. They requested that it be emailed to them. I then delivered the article through that avenue without a moment's hesitation.

After waiting another week (Wed. the 27th of August) I sent another email asking why the article had not yet been posted. This time I did not receive a reply.

I waited another week. Then, earlier this week (on Tuesday the 2nd of September), I sent another inquiry asking why it had not been posted. I even attached the article again just in case there had been a slip up. But as of today, almost a month after I originally submitted the column, I notice that it has not been posted.

I'm wondering if this might be one of those instances where the silence speaks volumes. Is the article being suppressed, or is it legitimately being overlooked due to other concerns?

I might give them the benefit of the doubt. They did print my editorial on Obama's failure to know when life begins. But the silence in regards to my follow-up emails gives me greater suspicion of their having an agenda against life.

It would be one thing for the TG not to cover this newsworthy event by its own writers. But squelching a legitimately developed article in a section where news is by the people and for the people is curious.

Perhaps we can find out if they have an agenda this week. This Sunday the Care Center will have its open house where they will dedicate their new medical equipment. If a TG reporter attends and gives the event fair coverage, I might be able to put my questions to rest.
